Does Rose House provide meals, and are the kitchens halal-only?
We do not provide food or catering—students bring and prepare their own meals. However, to support a clean, values-aligned living environment, all three of our fully equipped communal kitchens are strictly halal-only (meaning pork and alcohol are strictly prohibited in all kitchen and storage spaces).
How far are the universities from Rose House?
Rose House is exceptionally well-located. Abertay University is a 3-minute walk away, the University of Dundee is about an 8-to-10-minute walk, and the Dundee Bus Station (for commuting to St Andrews) is an 8-minute walk.
Are there dedicated prayer facilities on campus?
Yes, both Abertay University and the University of Dundee have active Islamic student societies (ISOC) and provide dedicated prayer rooms with washing facilities (wudu area) for daily prayers.
